Take the mold without hooks or anything in it and close it and hold up to the light. You'll probably notice light coming through, a lot of these were defective like that. I contacted the store I got mine from and the owner told me that had a bunch that they exchanged over the issue, mine is the same way but I chose not to exchange it. Instead I just got some Permatex red high temp silicone gasket maker and filled the hook eye part of the cavities with it, let it sit overnight and then cut it flush with a razor blade. When you put the hook in and close the mold the silicone will compress and no more flash but it is bad you have to do that. I called Do-it customer service but they gave me another number to speak with one of the guys that works with the molds but it was long distance and I was almost out of minutes with my cell phone, and yes, I use a track phone as I don't use it much and being on a fixed income makes it tough for another monthly bill and still be able to make tackle. Anyway, after that experience I contacted the store in which I purchased the mold and like I said, the owner told me he either got a bad batch or there is a problem but it looks as if one or both sides of the mold are warped as it doesn't close tight, there is a gap and they offered to replace my mold but I didn't feel like packing it up and paying to ship it out and waiting for the replacement which I was told could take a couple of weeks since I pre ordered mine. So there is the fix unless you contact Do-it, most have cell plans so they can contact someone in the shop but for me it didn't help.
