Bat jig question

Anyone ever just reel a bat jig in, if so how does act? I’m thinking it would be a good marabou and hair jig mold tossed at the bank and reeled in

I made some up in some long rabbit hair Mo and had fair luck fishing them by casting/retrieving. Sunfish liked them. I'm going to mod my mold out to take only the wire keeper and omit the short collar. I fish way more plastic than hair, but still have a couple hundred cast up in a handful of sizes to tie if I decide to. That hook makes for a nice swim jig anyway. I've modded out a 1/32 ballhead mold to take that hook and love it for casting/retrieving small plastics for crappies.
