I'm going to be purchasing the weedless ball head jig mold and a football jig mold. I was wondering if anyone could give me some idea on the strength of these hooks. I have watched some youtube videos and some people seem to use them and other are using heavier hooks. Any concern with these hooks bending on hooksets with 12-15 pound fluorocarbon line and a heavy or medium-heavy casting rod?

You should be fine with the fluorocarbon in that range with a MH rod. The issue with guys bending hooks are often using tackle that is heavier than the technique they are fishing. Football jigs were originally a deep clear water technique, they were made with thin weed guards and light wire hooks so you could get full penetration on a hook set when the jig was in 25' of water. What happened is braided line is so good that guys regularly use 30# to 50# for fishing jigs like the football head. As for the weedless ball jig, I think you mean the weedless round head which is the same as an Eakins jig, I say that because there is a weedless ball jig that uses light wire 90 degree hooks and that is the exact name of the mold, weedless ball jig. I use the 32798 in both of the molds you are looking at with 12# line regularly with a MH rod and I don't have any issues.

What smalljaw said. I use 15 lb flouracarbon, caught some big bass on that hook, never had a problem.

Will the molds take smaller hook sizes than it actually recommends on the mold. Where it says 3/0, will it accept a 2/0 without modification. I only ask because I want to make football jigs for smallmouth fishing so I wanted to put a smaller hook in than it recommends.

Yes, most molds you can go up and down 1 size without issue. I make a finesse jig with the weedless roundhead with an Eagle Claw 2798 2/0 in the 3/16oz size to use for smallmouth. I've also made the same size jig with a 4/0 and on the larger mold I make the 3/8oz version with a 3/0 heavy wire 32796.

The strength of that hook will be just fine. One way to avoid straightening a hook is to not use a hook that has had it's "integrity" compromised.  If I straighten out a hook slightly on wood, a fish, etc. - I will usually put that jig aside and tie on a brand new jig/hook. I use "used" jigs only when pride is NOT on the line!  8)
