Using the same sticks as what I have been posting I did this combo up for the local pike that seem to love the combination.
The red is Do-It's Bait Blast basic red that has been thinned down a lot and applied using three thin coats. The very thin paint allows for a veil of over-spray to migrate up the lure's sides as can be seen on both in the picture. The unique thing is that when viewed straight on from the side the over-spray cannot be seen on the reflective middle portion of the bait where the two colors separate. As the angle of the lure shifts, so does the ability to see this red flush.
The black back is Do-Its Bait Blast basic black. Do-It's Bait Blast clear has been thinned out well and a color shift called "Flare" mixed in and applied in a fairly wet coat over the entire bait surface. This color shift offers a transition of colors from purple, to blue to red. On the top bait one can see the purple coming out across the forward portion of the back. On the bottom bait about a third of the way forward from the left some blue and red can be seen popping out. Between the foiling inside the baits and the color shift over the black these baits are just a maze of colors when spun in the sunlight.
CS Seal Coat seals the deal with two coats covering the entire bait. Do-It's "Warmouth" Attack series eyes round out the bait. Come June next year there are going to be some anxious pike and I'll be feeding them these for sure.
