Here are 6 of 42 Fat Forkss I did up today. 32 are just like these and 10 have black bodies. Both colors would be good to go walleye fishing as they sit, these will all get air brushed eyes added and dipped in clear to seal. I made some thin inserts that go into the hook slots on the undersides of these baits for when the clear dip gets applied.
While these in the picture appear white they are actually a nice, rich, pearl made with some of the original Caney Creek Pearl liquid colorant and a couple drops of the old Caney Creek white. There's a dollop of the UV enhancer powder in there too.
I've made a rod that will get heated and pressed on to the plastic for the eyes so they'll adhere better given the deep machine embossing on these baits. With tomorrow still supposed to be fairly warm yet I hope to get some of these sprayed up and finish dipped. Lake Pepin has open water yet and I'd like to sneak down there Saturday and give these a little water time in a known walleye hole reachable from shore. Maybe the last chance at open water for this year with below zero temps forecast for next week. When does winter "officially" start? Its was too soon for this crap to be coming in at -0.
