MAGNUM TUBE-TA (or lure body with hook slots)
« on: 01/27/24 08:45 UTC »
I would like to see multi-sized magnum version of the TUBE-TA jig mold (https://store.do-itmolds.com/Tapered-Tube-Skirt-JigbrSz-132-116brHk-570-or-575brCollar-None_p_1027.html) that could be used for hover strolling. The reason for this mold is when cutting the sprue off, it could be done at an angle to help keep the jig in the plastic.

Brennan/Mark - I hope something like this is already in the works for a July release, but if not please consider working on this as no redesign is necessary other than extending the head a little...  after a little more investigating, I'm thinking perhaps it might be easier to add hook slots to the lure body mold?

I had modified a lure body mold years ago, to make tube jigs. I've never really gave that a thought about it working as a hover type jig.

I don't know what weight these are, don't recall, but they're from that modified mold.

Mustad 32746 black nickel hook.

I did the same thing years ago with the finesse dropshot mold.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing... (or having HQ do).

I had never heard of hover strolling until Gary posted it and I think it would be a dynamite addition to the jerk baits I primarily use when fishing a various clear lakes for suspended fish.
