crappie fork tails

This mold is a versatile mold simply because the tails alone can be used as a crappie bait. In fact, they wake a very productive bait. There are times when the fish want a vertical tail instead of a horizontal and a simple 90 degree twist when mounting the tail on a jig provides for that. Two color tails are a snap as is but can offer a three colored bait in a blink. Then toss in a two colored tail and use a twin injector to get the body color.

Personally, the fish have graced me when using this tail as a bait and I am needing a few more for the late fall bit. Of late, the purple, junebug and sunfish glitter mix have been stellar colors as long as a chartreuse tail graces the baits. These should be very productive from now until ice starts messing with the open water.
