« Last post by 21xdc on 02/09/26 06:39 UTC »I don't loop knot either. I want my knot snug to the jig. I've never seen any advantage to a knot that wasn't tight to the hook, lure or jig for any of my fishing.
I do pre rig bass plastics I fish on weighted hooks mounted on 20lb titanium wire with a very small swivel at the line end when pike are around in numbers but that swivel doesn't come into play at the plastic end. The only time I use any sort of "loose" lure connection is on Lake Superior and a quality ball bearing swivel/clip is used with the tackle I cast or troll with there because everything seems to want to want to spin on the line and twist can occur.
Panfish, walleye/sauger and 80% of my bass fishing gets tied tightly and direct.
