Lyman vs Lee
« on: 06/10/21 13:15 UTC »
So I recently bought a Lyman pot. Got tired of the constant dripping with my Lee pots. This is just to demonstrate the difference between the two. The molds are my Hellgrammite heads. Both custom made. One with a Doit blank and one cnc. I could never get a consistent pour with the Lees. Just couldn’t get the little pinchers to fill out. Especially with the cnc. But since switching to the Lyman, no problem. I don’t know if it’s a temperature problem or a flow problem. But I suspect it’s the flow. I had the temp cranked up on the Lee but I had to choke it down because of the constant dripping. With the Lyman, no dripping so no problem. I’m not trying to sell anything to anybody. Just putting it out there.

Thanks for the information hawgthumper. I use a ladle, but have been thinking about going to a pouring pot. This will definitely influence my decision.

Neat head idea... do you pair it specifically with the Helgy or do you any/all plastics with it?
