two questions
« on: 01/21/21 09:40 UTC »
Two questions from new user:

1) I have the 5inch senko mold do I need to coat the mold with oil or some other slippery substance to help the finished product slip out?  I've been using the plastic molds from Janns NetCraft and they say to coat them.

2)  Several articles I've read talk about adding stabilizer to plastisol but doesn't most plastisol have stabilizer in it?

thanks for any replies

Ron

Hey parrothead. I brush a  very thin film of worm oil on my aluminum molds about every 4 to 5 injections.
Stabilizer is helpful if you do much reheating plastisol. A few drops every batch never hurts anything.

We're all beginners. Hope you're enjoying it. I guarantee there is something I have yet to try. Stabilizer helps keep the plastisol from scorching if overheated a bit. Worm oil is great lubricant for molds and all tools used for pouring. It goes a long way.
Have you shot any Senkos yet?
