Lamar's Dirty Little Secret
« on: 01/24/21 16:02 UTC »
In remembering Denny who is under the weather right now I made a few baits. He named this color Lamar's Dirty Little Secret. I also made some white ones too for skipping.

That’s a nice color. That’ll catch fish anywhere.

Bought several baits from Believe Baits. I think your color was some of them. Nice color. I tried to log into Denny's site and it shows can't be reached.

Yes it was him and I believe his grandson doing that. As his health declined he stopped doing it.

Actually Rosemary was the other half of Believe Baits. She did all the airbrushing of the jig heads used for bass jigs and spinner baits. Very talented lady. Seeing his shop was an experience. He has a row of 5 cabinets maybe 7 feet tall with three foot double doors, each with 24" deep shelving spaced about 10" apart. Every shelf, every inch, was full of molds....mostly of the Do-It ilk....often with six to ten of each mold. He had cases of rubber for making jigs and spinner baits, plus paint and cartons of hooks, plastic and colorants and glitters. There was a line of tables right behind the double-wide garage door that took up a goodly portion of the span plus 2 double tables, end to end, where painting, casting and injection took place. I'll never forget walking into that the first time.....just unreal.

All are 2X colors for 6oz plastic each
The brown is simply 8 drops of brown
 The other is
 1 drop watermelon
 1 drop Baby Bass
 1 drop yellow
Both have a small amount of black flake.

Denny sent me some of his baits and I do believe that they were a little lighter then mine. But both will catch fish.
