That poison tail style spinnerbait looks pretty close. Is that 1/8 0z. Bigjim?

Lines, that one was 1/4 oz, but I have made some in 1/8 oz too, and of course the typical heavier weights. I even modified the heavier mold, so can make them up to 1 oz.  One of my favorite head designs.

The only down side, is the wires get  bent up, but that happens with heavier wire spinnerbaits too.

Have you tried reinforcing the wire?  I do this with my 1/4oz spinnerbaits using a bobbin of old braid I pull off my reels.  I have circled the spot I do this on one of your pictures; all I do is tie a knot on the wire and then wrap around the two wires making a thin band and then tying to off after making several passes.  To give it a cleaner look, you can easily paint on some epoxy or even some super glue on to the braid.

Just an option for you if you want to give it a try!

No, I've not done that, but have seen spinnerbaits where others tie or wrap at that spot. I recall someone say that they prefer the R bend wire, but attached to the lure with a clip, so that's why they tied it closed. I'm not a fan of clips, and a good knot works fine.

I have both the twisted wire type forms & the R bends, so having to reinforce that area has not been any issue. When I said they get bent up, it's been the straight shaft sections between the line tie & the head, or between the line tie & the blades, that gets bent. They will get bent sideways too at the line tie area, but that happens with either type of wire. These smaller wires just seem more prone to getting bent since the wire is a much finer diameter.

I've caught a lot of different fish on these small spinnerbaits, so worth making a lot of them. None of them last forever anyway, so I just make more. I will salvage the parts & re-melt the lead if they're too bent, so, not a complete loss.

The lighter wire provides more vibration which I believe makes a big difference in getting bites sometimes even if they are little more delicate.

I recently picked up some Owner Straight Shank Worm Hooks (Cutting Point) in 1/0 for 1/8 oz. and 3/16 oz. Spinnerbaits that will be built on .032" Super Stainless wire forms.

I've probably caught more Bass on these smaller, light Spinnerbaits than any other one lure.

I've caught many bass & various panfish and pickerel on these compact spinnerbaits. They're great for small, or shallow water fishing.

I really like those Owner hooks too. Daiichi has some very good round bend Aberdeen style hooks also that I like for these smaller spinnerbaits.  Gerry's Tackle on Ebay sells a nice hook too, ( he calls them GT brand as he's having them produced) and they're reasonably priced, but are not the same quality as Owner or Daiichi.  IMO, they're as good as Mustad's hooks however. There's plenty of very good hooks available for making the smaller spinnerbaits and it primarily boils down to how much you may be willing to pay for them.

The shame of it is, it's not easy to convince a lot of folks that these small lures are very good for their bass fishing, if they're used to tossing 3/8 or 1/2 oz lures.  I had one guy tell me they're not worth his time to fish them, and IMO, that's his loss.  :(

Roger on'nat, BigJim!

I got mine from Midway marked way down.  Scored 11 packs (6 hooks apiece) for roughly half price.

Picked up 17 packs of 6 of the #1 in the same Owner SS Worm hook, for less than half price ($1.68 apiece) mostly for light bait fishing, whether crickets, live/cut baitfish or worms for panfish and catfish, which I do a bit of on the lighter side.

Side note:  I have a Yeti Bucket with the lid just for catfishing from the bank 😁

10 lb. and 12 lb. braid is great for this lighter catfishing.  I do quite well with that lighter braid and relatively-small hooks fishing catfish.
I loves me some Fresh Fried Catfish and Sacalait!

But yes, I can not agree more on the smaller spinnerbaits.  Sacalait love them, too.

I really like those poison tall spinnerbaits BigJim.  I may convert my mold to make a 1/8 oz like that. Great idea.

The .032" Super Stainless Spinnerbait Wire Forms fit the eye of the Owner Straight Shank Worm Hook 1/0.  Those little Spinnerbaits will be bite-sized and premium.  3/16 oz. Shad Head, WB400.

Once I get back to my components (hopefully today, as I was told) I'll check fit of the #1 hook in the same model, on that same wire, just for chits 'n giggles.

I may modify the 1/8 oz. Herring Underspin cavity to take a light (Crappie) spinnerbait wire and the Owner SS WH #1.
