Hi all. My name is Robert. I joined the forum on Monday, but I've been browsing you all's site for quite some time. I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier; I'm still in the research phase and I wanted to wait until I had something to contribute to the forum/community.
I am brand new to the world of making your own lures, so I will post a lot of dumb, repetitive questions until I get the hang of things. So please be patient with me. I am working on making some of my own molds out of POP (Plaster of Paris as I'm sure you all know), so hopefully I will have something to share with you all soon. I eventually want to graduate into making my own silicone molds; the POP is cheap and a good way for me to work on my technique.
I hope to be placing my first plastics order soon. I've been eyeballing one of the "all in one" kits from Bears Baits. I fish with a lot of june bug and green pumpkin colors. So if you guys want to share any recipes, that'd be super freakin' fantastic.
Based on what I've seen on the forum, it looks like you guys have it all figured out and I look forward to talking with you and learning from you.

Robert don't worry all my questions are dumb and my post are off topic and they still let me hang out here. Great crew here then there's Tom, Denny and Lamar but you will learn to just  :D and nod they are old, feeble, smell funny and hug that extra second to make things creepy but mean well. Do-it has great started kits as well. What kind of molds are you looking for? I know a lot of folks have molds with dust on em that might make you a heck of a deal.

Welcome, Robert.  Mo's spot on re Tom and Lamar.  In fact ,you can probably add Andy, Mike, the other Tom (the good looking one), Gary, Ryan, Ben and a couple others to his list.  Take me off the list though because, unlike the others, I'm still virile sometimes.  I'd like to expound on that a little more, but the sun's going down which means bedtime.
Until next time.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I chuckled as read your responses. Sounds like you are all a tight knit group, and I like that. And hello to all of the other new guys as well.

And MO QWACK to answer your question: I don't really know what I'm looking for yet. I just know that this respective hobby looks like fun, and I want to experiment with it. I will probably start small: maybe some ribbon tail worms, or some craws. It'll be a little while before I branch out into making my own spinner baits and what not. I would really like to find a nice tube mold. Bears has one, but it looks like it's the mold is just for the tails and not the whole bait. Am I missing something? (Remember...I'm new)

Thanks again for the welcome everyone!

If you are looking for tube molds....100% go with the Do-it molds! No tail splitting...which is a royal pain in the *&&^^%%

Even with just one mold you can crank out a years worth of tubes in no time...and they will be perfect!

Welcome aboard....and as a warning: "I will probably start small"... :P.we all said that at one time....NOT going to stay that way for very long!

Bedtime....and time for the purple pill duo. Nexium because Denny gives himself heart burn and Viagra because Denny's idea of virility is pill induced. Denny isn't such a bad guy most of the time but he is a lawyer by trade so keep that in mind when you start taking what he says seriously. Heck, he can't even take himself seriously.

 1) Welcome to the forum !
 2) How the heck did I get brought into all of this ?
 3) More then once ????
 4) I'm with the A Man ( this time only ) on Do-Its tube mold. It's an awesome mold that makes a really nice tube bait.
 5) John WTH ? Crappie are mud suckers as far as I see it.
 6) If your going to start out in this hobby. 1st. Kiss your wife goodbye. 2ent. Buy good stuff the first time. Do-its molds are good molds. Remember you can always order a sample pack to see the baits they make. Do-its not hiding anything, they will show you their baits right up front. And their 2X colorant uses so little colorant to make a color it's like buying three bottles of someone else's. Plus the new ES plastic is second to none. I learned the hard way, stick with Do-it.
 7) When you get to Tom's age always remember to empty the pan before you bring it to bed.
 8) Mo, he just can't help himself.
 9) Denny he's a lawyer and it's just called Karma.

Yes the do it tube molds are great. And as Lamar said buy the good stuff first.
Before you know it. It becomes a way of life. An and you will fish nothing but your stuff or stuff from others like me! Not Mo. His stuff is kinda lower level.  ????
