I always start with putting color in before heating, then stir, then heat.  As you near 350 degrees you can then add your glitter and have a pretty good idea of your final color.  If it's too light you can add more color.  If it's too dark, well, you can either start over with new plastisol, or make do with what you have.  Make sure to keep good notes.

Hope this helps.
Until next time.

This is a simple recipe that even I can repeat again and again.  I made these up for this weekend as they are Smallmouth CANDY around here in late Summer.  (of course the Smallies will eat a tin can this time of year around here if you tossed it out there)...  any way:

1 drop of X2 Motor Oil per ounce of plastic
1/8 tsp (or so)   .040 Black Glitter per 4-6 oz. batch

It's easy, It looks good and... dogonit it works!

Isn't it great, Jerry, to have the ability to just whip up some baits in a couple minutes that you can use the next morning.
Until next time.

Now I'd flip in a shot of gold hi lite and some copper glitter.....015. Or gold glitter. Or red glitter. Green would take off in there too. Purple would be a mind blower.

That color/glitter combo was hot for me last fall. I'll give it a try this weekend...because what I'm using now isn't working!!!

I'm brand new to making baits. In fact, waiting for my first order to ship. These recipes are fantastic. I've been making rods for the last 5 years. If anyone has questions, please send an email. I'm sure I will need help on this forum.

Thanks

That's because it looks like the first good spit after a fresh pinch... :P

who spits?  that's disgusting and it gives the rest of us smokeless tobacco users a bad name.
