Powder painting jigs
« on: 09/17/21 05:53 UTC »
I'm new to the forum but have been painting jigs with powder paint for about 30 years now. Here are some of my creations.

I use a bic lighter to heat my heads once before dipping and also use cheap nylon bristle brushes to tap paint  on the heads while still hot. I put up to seven colors on a head but most times it's four or five colors. The key is the last color that I dip into is silver crinkle powder paint. The heads should look shiny black and when you cure them in the oven the colors come out. Hang heads with the head up, paint flows away from hook eye towards the collar.  I prep my heads before painting filing away any rough spots and if the heads have eyes I file the back and bottom of the eye so the paint flows out of the eye socket. I do have a couple crinkle paint videos on you tube showing how I paint these.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum everyone. It took me several hundred jigs are so to get this crinkle paint figured out but I'm so addicted to painting these now that it's all I want to do.

Could post a link to the YouTube video? It would be easier to find that way. Thanks
