This is one heck of a bait at 3.5"
It shoots very easy and the mold doesn't balk when its cold. I lain the mold in the deep freezer for ten minutes and shot it ice cold the first time and it fills great even when cold. The full length and all around venting makes the tail colors a snap. I figured a pair of eyes would dress one of these up for the camera so I heated the flat head of a sheetrock nail and made a couple very fat indents for them and did a short cover dip. The eyes are not needed.

This style of bait has been a hottie for a couple years now and its nice to see it in the Do-It line-up. Now all I need is a smaller bait for crappies.

That two color is nice. I shot a bunch in pro blue and a few other colors to feed the Smallies in Canada on an upcoming trip. Leaving next week.(http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/apdriver1/IMG_1625_zpsefr71mwa.png)

That's a sweet looking color AP.
-
Great work guys!
-
Very nice!! I'm with ctom on a smaller one for panfish.
-
Really like that bait Apdriver you might want to pour some watermelon red flake did well for me in Canada in the flipping zip.
-
Thanks, WW. I poured up some Avacado that's just watermelon browned up some. So it's somewhat close. I thought if I could have three good colors, I would at least have a few options. Hope we catch the weather favorable.
-
Apdriver hope you have a awesome trip and the weather is in your favor. And the fish will cooperate in large numbers for you.
-
Fire stuff CTom and Apdriver!
-
Apdriver, that is an awesome color would you be willing to share the recipe for your pro blue?

I would be glad to, Bryan. I am away from my bench now but will get back to you tomorrow. I think I could go by my memory but......lemme look at my notes before I get back to you.

This bait has some awesome action too, although I didn't catch anything this weekend but sure had a blast casting these and other winter pours. Great lure sure do love it.
-
I've had several ask for the pro blue recipe. Smoke on steroids! Here you go fella's.
1 cup Medium Plastic
One drop Lure works blue hi lite
One drop UV Blast do it
2 drops Baitjunkys 3X Black colorant
1/8 tsp. Navy blue hex .035
1/8 tsp .040 black hex

The bait that was left in the mold in my picture has a pro blue almost a spitting image of AP's....but leaving it in the mold doesn't allow the light to pass thru it. A serious walleye or crappie angler up in these parts without pro blue baits in the box just isn't a very serious walleye or crappie angler. lol

Thank you very much APdriver!!!!!

Those did work great, Philippe and welcome aboard. We look forward to your input. The Smallies and the Pike really liked the UV too.

-
Your welcome, Steven. Welcome aboard. That pro blue is really a nice color.
-
Welcome to the forum Phillippe and Steven great color and real fish catching bait too
-
Very nice bait! One of my favorite baits and favorite colors.
I've been kicking bass butt the last couple weeks using the Ripper as a trailer on a blade bait made from the Do-it Ultra Minnow spinner mold. Black with blue flake skirt and a blue Ripper (not as nice as yours though).
-
Wow those are cool looking. I think im going to order that mold here soon.
-
I sample out lots of baits made with Do-It molds and the Ripper, regardless of size, is by far the most popular with the walleye and a few bass guys up in these parts. I've handed out the cnc version and the Essential series baits and it makes no different.....they just love'm. Our cold weather walleye and sauger river anglers really like these baits while there are a lot of big lake anglers who rely on them too. Honestly, I think the Ripper is the smartest bait Do-It has created. Now if they'd get a 2" or 2 1/2"version on the blocks...... Kyle? Kyle? Are you out there?

i agree, a 2.5" or slimmed down 2.75" version would be awesome! i love the ripper, both the mold and the bait that comes out. i do with the made a top inject version to make laminating easier, but i would rather have the 2.5" version! i really hope the come out with one soon!

Great post. Nice work on the baits guys! Welcome Steven & Phillipe.

Everyone's feedback has not fallen on deaf ears. No promises, but I can confirm we have done some successful testing on smaller versions in that size range.

Thank you so much for the D bal max (https://alvenda.com/dbal-max-review/) Pro Blue recipe. I was looking for it.
I was also looking for the Pro Blue recipe. Just joined the forum. Hope to learn and contribute a lot.

Welcome aboard, IsidroJames, this is the place for learning... and we look forward to seeing your work.

Welcome aboard Isidrojames! Everyone has something to offer here. Everyone. So feel free to jump in.
If you do a search of pro blue you'll see a lot of variations. Personally I use a clear batch to start and add small pieces of black scrap slowly to get the desired smoke color I want then I boot up the blue hi lites to where I'm happy and have at it from there.
Pro blue is one of those laminate colors that goes with so many other colors its really good to have a consistent recipe for it as you'll be using it a lot.
