Bass Jigs / Re: All rigged up
« Last post by Lamar on Today at 07:54 »
I make that bait in a Mo Milk color and put it on a plain jig head. The walleye in Canada love that thing. This year we're spending a week at Rainy Lake before we head farther north to our regular place and hope to catch smallmouth on it. I never thought about rigging it with a swimsuit hook but that would work well in the pads or weeds. I guess I got to toss a few of those in the box too.

These are the two best colors my buddy and I have found this summer so far. Large Mouths and Pike are the test subjects and heartily agree. The Quakin Shads and Do-Its weighted hook (1/8) cast on the VMC extended shank wide gap hooks are the ticket to our success.

It does take some getting used to.  Tom makes a great point about Temps.  I also found it easier to draw a T on my mold so I remember which way is top.  I've had runs of great colors be upside down or backwards.  The other thing for me that I'm still working on is contrasting colors.  Not all combos turn out like I picture in my mind.  Stick with it.  You'll get it figured out.

Twin injectors take so getting used to. It'll come. I think the biggest issue to overcome is getting the two plastics as close together in temperature as you can. and then slow the injection speed down.
