7 inch Wutz it for Musky

I got this mold to target musky on the mid Atlantic rivers I fish.  I've made some nice baits, and think that the profile is good, but I'm thinking of taking a dremel to the tail and converting it to a swim bait to add more action.  Any thoughts on such a conversion?  Do the molds dremel well?

I can speak for the Do-It molds....yes the carve pretty nice with little effort. I'm in your boat on the Caney mold. I have another mold that is made from what appears to be the same stock as what Caney molds come from and I need to do some venting. I guess we'll be finding out, eh? I don't think it will be a problem really, just take your time and use new cutters.

Jeff,

I think that you will find that the stick aluminum that the plastics molds are made from will be a little harder to work with than the cast alumimum that you're used modifying with Do-It molds.  Either is relatively easy to work with but the plasitcs molds (I would only guess) are a little tougher to mod., but not difficult I'm sure.

Why not just get a swimbait mold? It may work but you may never be able to sell that mold again. And then again, it may not work and you've just ruined a good mold. JMHO

I would consider that a big modification if it was something I was thinking about.   I, personally, would be hesitant to attempt it.

I have the BT 7" 2 cavity swimbait mold. I would be happy to loan it to you if you like.

I use the HD additive and baits are very wiggly in the tail and very durable.
