Starting in 2014, some people call me a "germophobe". After getting sick at a time I really needed to not, I began researching what makes us sick and how it can be avoided. In the process I learned many wivestales that don't actually make us sick...mom does not always know best 🤣
I surely do not 100% eliminate bacteria and viruses but I assure you I reduce them...you're welcome.
I am an avid, precision hand-washer and I carry hand sanitizer with me 100% of the time. I ALWAYS wash my hands with anti-bacterial soap after ALL restroom activities, and I NEVER dry my hands with anything but dry and/or sanitary cloths.
Everyone who has watched me prepare and/or cook food tells me that they are certain my food is safe to eat and would/do not hesitate to eat what I prepare...this is one of the many places where PRECISION hand-washing is critical. Don't just randomly wash your hands. Instead, wash them at the right times, and every time.
I run live-aboard Offshore Oilfield Crewboats in the Gulf of Mexico and work with a crew of 4 guys total, 3 others plus myself. The unsanitary behaviors I witness every day would make anyone paying attention sick to their stomach.
I'm not so much of a germophobe as I am a People-Watcher.
The Coronavirus epidemic should prompt you to fiercely protect not only yourself, but others around you and in your wake. Everything you come in contact with can be transmitted to everything you touch and then picked up by others. If you don't do it for yourself, at least do it for everyone else.
Many people parrot the "love others" because it tickles their ears and seems Noble Before Men, but those that won't/don't properly wash their hands (and sanitize when they can't wash) are only blowing hot air.
In person I am a very anti-social one and I'm not very friendly, but I am not mean to people and I ceaselessly remain mindful of not only my own protection and safety but that of others as well.
Don't shake hands with people. You have no clue what's on their hands, where their hands have been, if that person is a carrier of any disease or has recently come into contact with something you don't want.
Consider everything infected. Sanitize with precision. Hand-wash with precision. Be mindful, not mindless. Protect yourself and others and you will GREATLY reduce so many of life's undesirable microorganisms.
