A couple more Hybrid Grass heads
« on: 08/22/22 17:02 UTC »
Again these are 3/8 and 1/2 ounce heads.

These were airbrushed using the Bait Blast paint from Do-It. The Purple Rain transparent is across the back while Fluorescent yellow and a spot of Northern Lights Lime mixed in has gone over a White/ Go-To-Pearl under-color. Victory 10886 4/0 and 5/0 hooks are seen in these. The eyes are the Attack Series #4 Ninja Shad. I have larger jigs cast but I am waiting on larger eyes before doing any more finishing on the big heads. The heads are sealed with CS Sealcoat.

I'm thinking some barred silicone and bulk rubber will be used for the skirting.

Nice looking paint scheme on them!  I got some painted today but have not finished them yet. Still have to add eyes, but first I have to see what eyes I have that might fit. I painted around 300 various jigs today, so have not had time yet to check my eye stock.

I went with greenpumpkin with blue glitter powder paint, on most of them, and painted a few with pearl powder paint, and a greenpumpkin back. I also did one jig with orange and greenpumpkin.  ;D

I will post some photos once I get them completed. Should be sometime this week. I have another 150 jigs to paint tomorrow, so that's going to take much of my day.

I walked over to my neighbors pier yesterday evening and tossed some topwater lures for about an hour, and only managed to practice my casting. I had just bought some large poppers (4"), and wanted to try them out before the season opens again on the Striped Bass. The lake is a little low right now and I didn't really expect to catch anything. I spotted a decent size carp, who seemed to be staying in one area. I was going to go back this evening, but got caught up in the painting and had to deal with dinner for the dogs, so didn't go. I may go in the morning early, and see if I can find that carp again and fool it into taking a fly. That would be a good way to get the day started if it happens!  :P
