Black and Blue Hand Pours
« on: 05/13/14 19:55 UTC »
Here are some more 3 layer hand pour Freedom Fries that I have been working on.  For something different I have been dipping them in clear plastic. Some people might not like a completely smooth worm but I really like the the weight of them, they cast a mile and still have good action. The top and the bottom layer are a heavy smoke and the middle is midnight blue with pearl powder and heavy blue high-lite.

How do you go about dipping the whole worm???? If you use pliers, won't it leave marks?

 Thanks guys..

How do you go about dipping the whole worm?

To dip these worms I use the point on my digital thermometer and stick it in the end of the worm just far enough to hold it, then dip.

Straightening out a large paper clip leaving one fold in there will work too. I wrapped some masking tape around the one I use once in a while so I have something more substantial to hold on to.

D....that's a neat way to multi-task the temp probe.

I bet you could use something like a wire keeper. Maybe just not as harsh so you don't tear the bait up

I may give that a try ctom. The temp probe was my tool of choice because it was on hand. The paper clip would leave a smaller hole in the end of the worm for sure, I don't sell baits so its not a huge deal, but I'm always looking to improve my baits.

Thank You Do-It :),  I have been making baits for around 8 months now, and have had a great time. All the great people on this forum and the quality products you offer have made this hobby easy to get started in and fun to keep doing. I don't have a ton to offer this forum, so I hope people enjoy seeing my baits as much as i like to look at the great work others post here.

Showing pics of your hand pours is plenty to offer this forum, DF!  Seeing a color combo that someone else is doing can trigger moments of inspiration for colors one might not think to work with.  Same goes with techniques.  Everyone here offers something, which is what is great about this forum.
