My first attempt.

This is my first attempt at making a fly. It's suppose to be a Carey Fly but after an hour or so it is what it is.

Well like I said it's my first attempt. The video makes it look a lot easier then it is.

Fish aren't nearly as sophisticated as we make them out to be.  They will flat eat that thing.  The trick is consistancy (I had the hardest time with that).  When you can sit down and tie up a dozen flies and number 12 looks exactly like number 1 you nailed it.
I find it incredible that I have to explain to a grown American citizen that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful.

Exactly. There is an art to this. I'm use to tying larger jigs and spinnerbaits. This is fine detail tying. I've been wanting to get to the rivers more often here lately. This is one of four Brown Trout I caught Wednesday. Not very big but a lot of fun.

Nothing wrong with that fly Lamar. With practice your speed will improve. You are definitely on your way.

I have always been a believer no matter what the outcome you can never tie a bad fly!
as my kids were surprised catching fish on their so called bad tie.

I know right ? In bass fishing I only use the baits I make. I've done it for so many years now that when I caught those four Brown trout on a store bought fly it just didn't seem right. I have a fly tying kit that was my grandpa's then my dad's and now mine. It's what I've used to tie all the jigs and spinnerbaits and what evers. So I just needed to update it a little and tie some flys.
