Title: My first attempts at airbrushing
Post by: bassinfool on 12/29/16 17:33 UTC
Got an airbrushing set up for Christmas and these are two of my first attempts.  I think I did pretty well for them being my first tries and I really can't wait to get some stencils and do a little more.  On the rootbeer pattern, I couldn't decide between a solid back or a splatterback so I did a little of both and it turned out pretty cool.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.  I painted one up last night and epoxied it and only then did I realize I forgot to put the damn eyes on  :P  Oh well, the water in my main lake is usually pretty stained so I highly doubt that would ever matter to a fish; it's all about that action.

You should give it a try, I think you would enjoy it.  Finished up the rootbeer pattern and put on some super sharp Gammy hooks.

This tackle crafting stuff is about 99.999999% creativity. Got an idea? Close your eyes and imagine it in your mind. Then try it. Adopt an "I can" mentality instead of an "I'm terrible at art" thought path. You won't know if you don't try and I can assure you that EVERYONE on this site has cranked out something that they thought was a real puker. When those come along its not a failure on your part but rather a doorway to positive change. Everyone can do this stuff if they try.

Very good job, espescially for a first bait. I love to air brush, it really gets in your blood.

When I started airbrushing I really thought it was going to be way more difficult than it is, with that being said I don’t paint portraits or scenes. YET... lol. Great job for your first times, they look really good. Just wait until you start learning to regulate the air flow and see how much your detail can improve by moving in closer to paint.  ;)
