| Description: The camera works quite well!!! Here is the Original PGF, with the 3x Silver Curltails and the Deadly Dudley Jr's. I made some today with no added existing bodies but they came out Light, and no large flake...that's ok...one of the kickin' perks of "rollin' your own", is do it, then do it again...it'll get right.

| BareKnuckleJigs | 11/10/11 17:58 UTC Sorry. 2.5" Carrot. |
| pjmcla | 11/11/11 12:19 UTC Nice Bait coloring. I agree that the large silver glitter adds a certain pop to the bait -- just enough; but not too much. Apparently the fish think so too. I wonder what a sister bait in shrimp orange brown would do? |
| BareKnuckleJigs | 11/11/11 18:45 UTC Thank You, Sir! I definitely agree that the large silver flake add that little extra "something". They looked SERIOUS in the water. I've been pondering a Shrimp imitating color. Get it even remotely close, and they won't be able to stand it! Any ideas? Fire away! |
| BareKnuckleJigs | 11/14/11 09:24 UTC Mr. Paul, I'm about to get started on a Shrimp color. I grew up trawling, and I'm going to try to consider the different colors, and color variations, in Live White and Brown Shrimp. Pink Shrimp are more of an East Coast Shrimp, unless You're in deep water, many miles offshore in the GOM. I have 1 full pack of Pink Champagne Deadley Dudley Jr's, that are a Pale Pink, but they have another color in them, might be a little Motor Oil. Thinkin bout thinning these down, then adding a little Gold Pearl, so the Pink is there but the Gold Pearl Hue on the skin...which should "count" for the Brown. I find the Pearl Smokes don't too much change the "base", non-pearl colors when mixed. This combo should address the different colors, other than the Gray's in some shrimp. Brown Shrimp are brown, some are gray...White Shrimp vary a bit more for different reasons, but tend to have small amount of pink, alot have a bit of faint white...all are Transparent when they're alive...All these colors I'm considering are when they're alive. Someone should come out with a line of Flake/Glitter that are Transparent like the Opals, but with color. A Transparent 60%-70%-Gray flake would be awesome in this bait...maybe even a "Whisker" shape. Here goes. |
