There are 4 laminate plates now available. Additional ones will be added by request. To help me manage them if you could request them via this link it would help me keep them in order: https://www.caneycreekmolds.com/crm.asp?action=contactus (https://www.caneycreekmolds.com/crm.asp?action=contactus).

Looks good Jason, dont for get about us small bait guys!!!!

These will be great for those of us that are "Twinjector challenged" or don't enjoy the twinjector method of creating a Laminate. The ability to use a single injector ( or two single injectors for that matter ) and create a quality laminated bait is a wonderful addition. Can't wait to try the concept of "half molding" with a plate.

7 inch curly tail.

7 inch curly tail.
I'd take a 7" ribbon tail too! :D

10" RibbonTail Please.
4" Mad Dad Craw Please
3"/4"/5"/7" Carrots Please

7 inch curly tail.
That was one of the first I made. The tail is to thin to only inject half of it. The body part works fine, but I thought that was kind of lame. I will keep this in mind on future baits with long thin appendages.

I am constantly amazed at what a community can do...
Matt Wiley just called me really excited about the new laminate plates. Why?
Matt plans on using both the laminate plates and the blending blocks and making 4 color baits!!!
Totally awesome idea Matt!!!
I think we all need counseling.

That's to bad on the curly tail. I want pics on the four color stuff. I have a hard time with two colors. : ).
Next vote would be a craw. 3xl or 4.
-
Jason, I was on the same page as Matt on the laminates. Inquired minds think alike! ;D ;D ;D ;D

This is a great idea I just purchased one for the swim sahd and had a really hard time not buying 2 and another shad mold. Next month for sure lol anyways I'm terrible with the 2 color injectors and blending blocks I have a lot of problems with consitant baits and also with the blocks cooling 2 fast before I get my molds shot. Wastes a lot of plastic 4 me anyways. So I am very excited for this!! Thank you jason keep up the good work and I look forward 2 what you and ccm have 2 offer in 2012.

I'll be checking my molds for Alignment Ball Positioning when I get home! Got a few ideas up my Injector Motors...
-
Jason, Bro!!! In the Store, the 6" Carrot Lami Plate has 2 options. If the Alignment Ball/Venting is on the RIGHT Side of our mold, do we grab the Right Side Vent/Sprue Plate, or the Left Side Vent/Sprue Plate?
-
Select the side its on.. I'll make sure the plate is right. If your not sure send me a pic.

Awesome! Thank You, Sir!!!

Hi Jason
Do you think a lammie plate will work for the tubezilla?
-
WOW! The laminate plate for this bait is a game changer for laminate baits! I wish I could take a good enough picture to show just how good my baits came out using the new laminate plate.
I shot 5 rounds...15 baits and they all came out picture perfect. It's really amazing how fast you can crank them out using the laminate plate. If you have been wanting to do laminates...and did not want to invest in the dual injector/blending block...or just find the whole thing "challenging"...You will be very, very pleased with the results from using the laminate block.

Alright - you have my interest. How does this work? I am having a real hard time trying to visualize - some pictures of the mold set up would be helpful.
Andrew - how long did it take to bust out those 5 rounds?
Do you need a laminate plate for every mold (i.e. if you have 3 molds do you need 3 plates)?
-
"Basically"....It's a block of aluminum ...the same size as the mold. It has a sprue hole and an alignment pin, runner and the necessary vents. The plate is flat...except for the sprue hole, runner, pin and the vents.

You clamp the plate on 1/2 of the mold....in the case of the Swim Shad it is the bottom of the bait. The plate is flat...so you can only get plastic to the bottom half of the the mold. Basically you are shooting 1/2 a bait.

After injecting the bottom of your bait, You unclamp the plate, trim off the runner...and close the mold back up (you have a bottom of the bait....just like if you hand poured it). Now you have a regular mold set up..with half of it already full. Inject the top half...and WOW!
It's pretty fast...while you're waiting for the bottom to set...I'm heating (or reheating) the top...while demolding...I'm reheating the bottom...on and on!
Yes...you can do the same thing hand pouring...IF you are good enough to do it (I'm not)...plus this gives you a really nice straight line between the two colors.
Make sense???
-
Andrew, that is a very nice lamination.
-
I got it now! Thanks so much for taking the time to post an excellent response. The pictures really did it for me. Now - got's to spend some more money. I have never really been addicted to anything but this gig is starting to worry me. :o
-
MAN, Andy...You're a danger to my checking account.
-
For $18.50 it's the best money I've spent!!!! I can't wait to get them for all of my molds!!
"Rumor" has it...that the Glider plate is next! Now we can get our laminates AND the 1/2 a glider leech pattern that we've been talking about!!!!

Part of the reason why the laminate plates are so sweet, is yes, you can do it with a blending block, BUT I do not know ANYONE who could HAND POUR the fine appendages (like the tail of the swim shad here) and still be able to close the mold to shoot a true 50/50 bait. It's one thing to pour the belly then close and inject, but with the laminate plate, and to get a fully 50/50 bait- AWESOME. yet ANOTHER testament to Jason's commitment to service. Awesome.
Andy- thanks so much for the pic and AWESOME bait!! Jason- thanks for the innovation.

Hi Jason
Do you think a lammie plate will work for the tubezilla?
I think we could make something that work. I'll have to give it a try and see.
