Title: Crappie on the 2.5 Fry
Post by: RonDon on 01/22/12 21:10 UTC
Hit lake D'arbonne Saturday in the rain and 10-15 mph wind but managed to pick up some nice crappie.  We ended up with 30 in the 13 to 15 inch range.  All caught on the 2.5" fry.  First pic is dad trying to get a 1/0 sickle out of the fish!

I that GREEN water I see.  We haven't seen green water in two weeks.  Based on the rain heading our way; near future isn't looking good either.  Oh; got all excited over the water color and forgot to say nice whites.  I do a lot of catch and release; but those might get "released" into a pot of 360 degree peanut oil  :).  Love cold water Crappie.

Among the greatest pleasures of freshwater fishing is searching for crappie.  A close second is when you get over a school of them.  LOVE IT!
