Title: Rite Hete Questions
Post by: Iceneyes on 12/01/17 18:07 UTC
I have a couple questions for the melting pot guys.

1) how do you get all of the plastic out after a batch?  The corners in the bottom are especially hard to clean.

2) I'm working on the bench in my garage and my wife claims there is a film on her windshield.  I didn't notice anything. Am I crazy or is she?

1. Normally it all pulls out. If not, get a plastic dutch oven scrapper.
2. Not touching that one! (But I've never noticed a film... maybe it's the cigar you are smoking!)

I pour the plastisol out of the pot into a pyrex cup while it is still liquid, then use an old shop rag to wipe out the pot. Mineral oil helps to wipe it clean. As for a film on the windshield, she may be right. Somtimes after a long session I notice a film on my glasses.

You're definitely getting your face too close to the plastic in the pot. lol

Thanks for the info guys.

So long as I keep the glitter of my wife's windshield, I can still play dumb!

Glitter....windshields.. ..this will likely bring up a whole other discussion and one you probably want to avoid. lol

Better talk to olsarge about the glitter issue, he has the most experience in that category.
ctom, you may be correct about my head being to close to the pot..hence the moniker..potheads. ;D
The Rite Hete pots are no joke though, they are top notch equipment.
