Title: Pouring tubes - looking to make my favorite colors
Post by: creekbeater on 01/28/12 10:28 UTC
Jason,  thank you for the sample pack and the additional smallmouth baits!

I'm getting set up to pour smallmouth tubes (by injection) for the first time.  I'm thinking about starting with the regular softness of the CCM plastic.  I would like to start out with 3 to 4 colors to try to reproduce my favorite color baits green pumpkin (traditional), cabin creek "green pumpkin", "watermelon", a custom crayfish color called new shell from wacky worm and smoke purple from cabin creek.  Below is a photo of these colors with the 4" smoothy sample tube you provided as a reference on the left.  I believe this is the caney creek green.

My thought is to start with the amber or amber green, smoke purple and yellow to achieve the lighter cabin creek gp and watermelon colors.

Am I on the right track? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

as an fyi,  the bubble gum, earthworm and yellow colors do not display when using the drop down.

It's hard to tell as all of our monitors display a little different.  I would probably start with these colors:

Watermelon
Amber
Smoke Purple
Pumpkin - (the third one, or is that amber?)

And Black, Brown and White (allows for minor tweaks in shades).

thanks Jason.  the amber may be the way to go and I'll get the other colors as well to fine tune.
