Wow...those are da bomb. How did you secure the maribou? Is that one blood per, pulled all the way to the head?

I used a large enough sewing needle that I could thread the marabou quill through. Threading the needle through the body and very carefully pulling back with the marabou doubled over maybe a 1/8” through the eye. Not using anything to secure it. A video I’ve seen showed a guy using super glue but I have my droughts with that working.

The same can be done on grub bodies right down to 1" ones. They are a great bait.

I made some tonight using the body from the CC Glider. Darn they have some wiggle!

Another variation is to run rubber hackle through the body as a tail.
Also, run some rubber hackle through the body of the bait horizontally for legs.

This was a killer bait when I was a kid (a LONG time ago!). It still is a killer for smallmouth!
