Ok guys been trying to add some 3d eyes to these small 1.75" Croaker frogs but it makes the frogs look kind of weird due to the plastisol hot dip swelling. Thought about heating the plastisol a little hotter to thin out but unsure if this would do any good or not? Any other way to attach these eyes without the frog look really deformed ?Thanks

Some weirdness must be expected...
I thin out my plastisol with softener, abouth 10 % ish.
I heat the plastisol to abouth 180-190 C (Lure Factors plastisol, UK based firm)
But one trick i feel works is when i retrive the bait from the dip i hold it close to the surface until i feel all excess dip have dripped of.
Seems like i am getting a thinner coating this way.

Use flat eyes. Never underestimate the power of flat eyes.

Or you can open the mold, put eyes in the place you want them to be, put a little hot plastic onto the eye to hold it in place, close the mold and shoot the bait. Cover-dipping afterwards will clean it up.

Eyes with round, centered pupils are easy to get right if you're adding them to the mold cavity then shooting the bait.
If the pupils are oval or otherwise not round, they're more difficult to keep aligned because when you're adding them to the mold cavity, you're looking at the opaque rear of the eye. To help keep yourself straight, take note of how the point or apex of the pupil is oriented with the "grid" on the back of the eye, and use that grid on the back to gauge pupil alignment as you set the eye in place.

Hmmm i never thought about using flat eyes ill definitely switch over to them. I will add directly to the mold that is a great idea also. I just wonder if a person could coat over with Pros Soft plastic glue ? Not sure if that stuff dries crystal clear or not but from what i see it looks like pretty strong stuff but unsure how durability would work applying to the eyes? Thanks guys for the help
