Title: Spring is here!
Post by: olsarge on 05/03/18 08:24 UTC
Watching the boob tube last night when, at 10 pm the tornado sirens sound.  Unmistakeable sign that spring is here.

Hope things didn’t hit near you.

Actually, it was pretty wimpy here in the burg and I am fine  with that.  There was some damage locally (8 miles north of us) but I am not sure of the extent.  KC had some trees down and utility poles as well so it packed a decent punch but not unusual for us this time of year.

Glad you guys are safe.  Tornado season here in Alabama is 10 months out of the year but you're never truly safe from them with this crazy weather we have down here.

Yup...... we had to take cover lastnight. There was a lowering with rotation about a mile south of me and uprooted trees 2 miles east of me. I have not officially heard be a confirmed tornado yet. I hate May around here

I was stationed at Altus AFB in southwest Ok from 1982-1986 and submitted an average of 2 insurance claims per year on our automobiles/home,  I moved to Mo in 1986 and in the 32 years we have lived here I have submitted a grand total of 1 (roof).  Maybe I wasn't holding my mouth right or something but those Ok storms were feeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-rocious

First think you for your service
Second I’m sorry you had to live in Altus

The storm lastnight we took cover from supposedly dropped and went across Tinker AFB. I still haven’t heard a tornado confirmation yet but I haven’t been around TV or radio at all today. Storms help me keep the lights on with all the damaged cars hitting the body shops but I sure don’t want to have to make a claim.
