Title: Modifying Aluminum Senko Mold
Post by: SBuck88 on 07/14/18 20:28 UTC
Is anyone out here modifying their Senko mold to help prevent the denting that occurs?  I would like to do this, if it solves some of the problems of denting. Thanks,

I’ve modified a mold for denting but not my Senko mold. I tried a bunch of other stuff first to get it to shoot and modifying it was a last resort. Shooting cooler and holding pressure will sometimes help.

I will give it a try.

I have modified a 6" CNC Senko mold by making the gates of each cavity bigger (deeper) it now shoots without denting at any temperature.

Last night I cut some copper pipe and it fit right in where you inject.  It seems to be better with a bigger sprue.
