Title: Having Trouble shooting the 3" Super Smoothy Tube
Post by: UnJo Baits on 08/04/18 21:53 UTC
I just got the 3" Super Smoothy Tube w/insert & spline mold this week. I'm having trouble with the plastic bleeding into the tenticles. I have adjusted the plastic temperature a few times & adjusted my clamp pressure & I'm still having issues with the plastic bleeding into the tenticles on the underneath side, causing them to blend together. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Try clamping with 2 clamps. Firm...but not hard enough to damage the mold! On some molds you can clamp hard enough to affect the flow down the spline.

Then, inject slow.....no..even slower ! Use only light pressure on the plunger as you inject. If you blast really hot plastic fast down the mold you will get flash!

My notes on that mold are to inject at 330 degrees (after the mold is warm).

If you are getting flash after injecting a few baits let a fan blow over the mold between shots to cool the mold a bit.
