I'm looking at some scents at the store now...What is Bass Sauce?? I know it's mixed with Grape, what's the bassy part?

Kipbass: Bass Sauce is mostly a Menhaden Shad base. We add a little something extra ( Natural forage oil ) to it that seperates it from straight Menhaden Shad. Grape scent is then added to make GRAPE SHAD.

Will the scent with the menhaden shad base yellow the plastic if added to hot plastic, or if added to cured plastic in the bag?

The Menhaden is a golden color. I really don't have guys complaining of discoloration issues. It may slightly alter a light colored bait, but not enough to make the end result a disatisfying one. When adding to packaged baits, the key is adding just enough to coat all the baits, you can always add more scent later ( the softer the plastic the quicker it absorbs and vice versa )....adding to much scent ( oversaturating ) can make baits gummy over time and alter colors slightly. Just start by adding 8 drops or so and reapply to the baits if you notice the scent oil has been absorbed.

Doug: Are you in any progress in making a smelt scent?

It's something I am considering. Keep an eye out as we may add it this year sometime. Thanks.
