Nasty weather and a bad back have limited my activities lately so yesterday I set out to clean up my shooting bench. In process I found a small bag with 4 essential 5 inch jerk baits in them. I remembered setting them aside because they had small heat dents in them and I wanted to remelt them. Any way as I was inspecting them I got an idea. I cut the tails off right at the little segment and have a nearly perfect 1.75 inch crappie carrot. How cool is that. I love making multiple baits out of one mold but I think this is the first time I have turned a bass mold into a panfish mold. If you are looking for a crappie bait but dont have the mold. try it. I think you will be surprised!

Olsarge that’s want is cool about making your own is that you can do what ever you want. I’ve been thinking that if you cut the tail off a fat fork it would make small fork tail worm for ice fishing.
