A question about Senko's if I may...
I'm considering these molds and also considering selling them under the Senko name and if I do that I understand that I need a license from Sir Gary. I've been over to Yamamoto baits and I assume I need to contact them about this at that site. Before I do so, as a complete n00b in this particular area, are there things I should do to prepare before I initiate contact?

They will never give you permission to sell them as Senkos. The name is copyrighted and their sole property. The bait is not patented though. You can buy the mold from do-it that Gary has blessed to be called a Senko mold, but you can't sell the baits as "senkos".

Red flags went up when I first read this.
The Do-It mold makes an identical replica of the Senko, except it says "Do-It" where the original baits say "Senko" on the side. If it were me, and was going to sell baits and wanted to sell as close to a Senko as possible, I'd do a page explaining that the Do-It bait you're selling is an identical copy in every way shape and detail with Gary Yamamoto's blessing and agreement that the mold and subsequent baits are great as long as they are not in any way showing Senko on the baits. Actually, with the plastics available at Do-It and the weighting compound to make the baits sink at a comparable rate, you'll be able to make baits that are ten times as durable as Yamamoto's product and that in and of itself is one heck of a sales item.

I was under the impression that if you bought Do It's "Senko" molds that you needed a license from Yamamoto baits in order to make and sell the results from these molds. Is this not true? Can I make and sell these w/o a license?

Sure you can. You just can't call them Senko.

Hey Lenny,
Under no circumstance can you sell the bait under the "Senko" name. You can absolutely manufacture them for resale, just under another name.
Hope this helps.

Got it guys, thanks!
So now I need some stickbait molds. ;)
