Hello guys new here first post. Looking for the best company that has a color sample kit to get started. Any recommendations thanks

I don't know right off hand of any companies that offer color samples of plastics. Do-It here and some others offer sample baits for a fee but the specifically samples of a finished color I haven't ever seen. Most every company that offers the raw plastic and components used to make the baits will have color plates of the colorants they offer but those can be misleading on computers because every phone and monitor is different and colors show up as such. I think on the over-all the color plates are fairly accurate but then the strength of the colorants used in individual batches of plastic can make the colors stronger or weaker than the pictures shown. I use mostly Do-It colorants and I know they are very close to the pictures shown on the sales page.

When I was starting out I bought some of the basic colors (black, white, pumpkin brown, pumpkin green, chartreuse yellow, and plum purple). I’ve tried a few different brands over the years and I tend to favor the x2 do-it followed by m-f in the non-bleed versions.
Start small and try mixing/blending your basic colors to see what you can come up with and how they play in the plastic. Then expand to other colors after you get comfortable.

This, I started out with a few mf colorants, worked good, most are very translucent, then tried a few x2 from doit, good colors, among the best! I have only been doing this for a few months but have settled on lureworks for colorants and glitter, good colorants, huge selection and not super expensive (4oz is like $6) I still like the x2 for black, white, red, the green pumpkin is nice, pumpkinseed and watermelon brown is awesome too.

Don't want nothing for free I just want a place where I could say hey like 5 or so 2oz colors or something in a bundle of my choice. I'm just starting and got a senko mold and kinda wanna mess around

I don’t think they have a bundle really, but you can get 1oz bottles of colors from lureworks, and I think most others have 2oz bottles. Unfortunately doit doesn’t offer smaller bottles of the x2, I think a 2oz bottle of x2 would be a hit, 5.5oz will last a looong time!

Can you get any colors from like Michael's or any craft store.

Not that I am aware of. This tends to be pretty specific to that plastic bait making industry but others have used like powder paint. I think someone even had some half decent results with Rit dye in powder form. I use nothing but the colorant sold for coloring the soft plastic.

M-F has a buy 5 get the 6th free. Lure works has 1oz bottles for 3 bucks I believe

Naa just wondering. I do plastic injection molding for a living making bottles and wondering if the color we use for hdpe bottles would work for plastisol. We got a ton of color here in flake and pellet form

I'd try some of the flake form of colorant. Just add it to raw plastic and cook. Do a couple ounces the first time just so you can see how it cooks in and to what degree it will color.
