On February 1, 2019 our doctor diagnosed my beautiful bride of 49 years with stage 4 lung cancer inoperable and uncureable. I have been an emotional wreck ever since. We have finally gotten all of the preliminary tests/scans completed. On Wednesday we celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary. On Thursday she underwent her first chemotherapy treatment (the emotional roller coaster continues). The good news is she handled the chemo quite well. While it has only been 24 hours so far she is only complaining of slight fatigue. Guys, I could really use a few prayers sent our way and BrandX I did not reply to your post earlier but please rest assured that each night when on my knees, I send one your way and to all others going through this bastard of a disease. Thank you all

It's been a long time since we've communicated, Olsarge, and I wish it was under different circumstances that we do so now. You and I seem to have quite a bit in common. Rosemary and I have only been married 48 years, but we almost share the same anniversary date...ours is March 6th. Rosemary was an oncology nurse for over 40 years before she retired a few years ago. I can't count the times she came home in tears...oftentimes uncontrollable sobbing. She wanted to "heal" her patients, but couldn't. Either the technology didn't exist, or "It was his "time." For Rosemary, death brought on finality and emptiness.
All of that changed about 30 years ago when she became a Christian and accepted Christ. She learned about the power of prayer and has experienced that power on many occasions. God's answer to our prayers is sometimes "No", but, for the Christian, the promise of eternal life is always "Yes". Rosemary and I will be praying for you and your wife. We will pray for healing and for peace.

Olsarge, I hate that this has happened to your wife. I will be praying for her, and asking God to lay his healing hand on her. I will be praying for you, and your family, as not only the patient suffers, but the whole family does also.
Thanks, for your prayers on my behalf. They are greatly appreciated.
