Title: Pay day....
Post by: ctom on 05/28/19 10:52 UTC
My little venture into the earring industry has its first payday. The double order [30 total] of the 7/10" bait bodies cost $12.00, so the per piece cost is .40 cents each. 20 were used, so $8.00 for the baits. The ear ring hardware totaled $11.00 with enough of the rings needed to do about 20 more pairs of ear rings and enough clasps to do four more pairs, so we'll call the cost at about $5.00. Material cost was then $13.00 for the ten pairs in the picture plus a little paint. Very little paint really. These ten pairs are set to retail at $25.00/pair at a northern MN resort. After deducting the $13.00 cost my payday is $112.00. I have about an hour and a half in painting and sealing these. Not bad on my end and the resort will be enjoying their profit margins too.

Those look nice.
I know a local tackle maker who sells something similar with his logoed spinner blades at tackle shops here in AK.
Since these are not used as fishing lures I'm guessing you don't have to pay excise tax on them either?
