That's great. Looks like my next Mold.
-
Very cool looking bait. Will you eventually upload a vid of it in the tank?
-
The Bassmasters classic results sure won't hurt this good looking mold. The classic was won by a fine young man from Guntersville, Ala.. One of the two baits he mentioned as his major baits looked a lot like the Flapping Hog. You aren't physic are you, Jason?
-
That's cool. I'd love to see a pic of it.

You know Jason, I would of never imagined those combinations put together, but It works. Good Job!

Chris Lane was using an Ugly Otter from Gambler.
However, another angler in the field was flipping a Yamamoto Flappin Hog.

I didn't even google Flappin Hog. I guess i need to change the name. Any suggestions?
Jason

It's a little like both of those. Maybe we should call it an ugly hog, or flappin otter ;D

Flippin' Toad it is. Thanks for keeping me out of jail Andy!

LMBO, After I started reading down the list on this one, the only thing that was coming to mind was, HERE WE GO AGAIN! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Don't be too fast to jump to any conclusions Jason. There might be an ulterior motive at play here. You can't develop and make molds if you are in Jail. :-X :D :-\
-
Is it too late for "JAIL BAIT"?
-
:D :D HaHaHAAA! GOD Morning, Fella's! The coffee's hot and the laughs are out-loud!
-
I am curious to see the action on this bait and how it may differ from the flipster. I am guessing there is some subtle movement of the flappers which gives a little more action to the bait but I am having a hard time visualizing.
-
Ya a video would be wonderful!!!! ;D ;D ;D
looks good though!

I just wanted to share a tip on this bait. JR poured me up some of these with a red tail and I split the tail and cut the middle out of both flappers. The fish were all over it last night. I was using it as a trailer on a black jig. I'm sure some of it had to do with the red tail, but splitting the flappers and tail really seemed to increase the bites. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference for you.

Could we see a picture of the cuts if possible? Straight cut on the tail and a "V" cut on the flappers?

Here is what I did:
This is how I cut the side flappers (made them look more like claws):

Here is a poorly split tail (should have a little more V in it):

This is the red color I was describing. It is a combo of 2 of the new X2 colors we will soon be offering:

Hopefully this helps.

And yes, the red creation was all CCM Jr! He just has a knack for creating great colors. The colors haven't been officially named but they were a Red and another color we'll call Jelly for now.

Thanks for the information and pictures! Sometimes a crazy color (like that red) will really catch fish. Something they haven't seen.
-
Ok I'm sold on this bait now after seeing those pics.

Any chances of a "Flappin' Craw" ...with the modifications in the mold?

Definitely worth mulling over. I do this to almost all baits that have flappers on them. The Boss Hog makes an excellent trailer cut down and trimmed this way. I learned it from an old pro who I get to fish with from time to time. - If you ever get to fish with an older fishermen - DO IT. He's forgotten more than I know - crazy good stick.
