The 4.5" Swim Shad is now available in 2 or 4 cavities. The laminate plates are available as well.

That.....Looks.....Fanta stic!!!! :o

Hooray! At Last. That's a Really nice looking bait. Glad to see the Laminate plate is concurrent with the bait. Do the laminate plates provide for injecting the "belly of the bait" like the 3.5 Inch Swim Shad plate does? Another curiosity if I might -- Is the four cavity mold a straight stacked four cavity; or is it a Two and Two on either side of a central sprue? ( not that it makes a major difference )

Both sides are injected (first the back, then the belly). The 4 cavity is 2 and 2 across from each other. I'll get more pics out soon.

Would you post a pic of the 3.5 and 4.5 side by side ....how much "bigger" is the 4.5??? (yeah....I know 1"... does it look significantly bigger due to length and width???).
Any plans for a really jumbo...Northern Pike-Big Walleye-Hog Bass lovin'..... size???

Here is a not so great pic, but it shows the difference. Jason

WOW! That's changes my plans!

Is that a good wow, or bad?
-
Apparently good....I ordered one!

they look great but can you still shoot top bottom laminates without the plates
as a guess do the plates just make the colour line a perfect break

Yes. You can hand pour the top or bottom, or both and then inject. You can use a blending block. You can use the laminate plate. Basically it will take the plastic any way you want to safely get it in there. With that said, this mold is the easiest we've made, to date, to hand pour and then inject and get a great looking bait. I personally would start with this method (the free method) and if I wasn't happy with the results I would look at some of the other options.

The mail lady came with my 4.5 molds at noon...so I ran home at lunch and shot a mold full (4) and my first impression is that this bait will be THE big bass and walleye bait of 2012!
Maybe it's only 1" longer than the 3.5" but it "looks" 2x bigger..
I took the baits back to work and showed them to some of the guys and they all went crazy for this bait for big walleyes!
Big Bass...Big Walleyes...Big Northern Pike.....this IS the bait! I'm 100% confident! (I thought the big Swim Toad was going to be good...but this....will be even better!).
Now...if we can just get rid of that darn ice on the river!!!!

Did a single 4 oz injector get it done on the 4 cavity? Or did you step up to a six

Sorry for the delay in response...flying around in silver tubes!
I normally use a 3oz BT injector (1/2 a twin injector).

A couple of questions before I order either the 2 or 4 cavity mold.
1. How are the cavities laid out in the mold?
2. Are they on the same side of the sprue or on opposite sides?
Thanks for the response.
-
On the 3.5 all three cavities are on the same side. On the 4.5, 2 cavity they are on the same side, on the 4 cavity 2 are on 1 side, 2 are on the other.
Thanks,
Jason

Thanks

Any way you can just put a paddle tail on this bait? Do not want a long thin tail that rolls the bait just want the tail to vibrate.

I agree a paddle would be a verrry welcome addition ;)

It is just silver smoke on top, clear with holo glitter on the bottom. I also really like a black back with holo belly and just a complete holo bait. The other color we fish a lot is watermelon red with a pearl belly. They all produce.
