Title: Using Hardener In Plastic
Post by: Johnny Bass on 04/16/20 15:06 UTC
Hope all is well  ;D

Has anyone mixed Hardener in their plastic before?

I would like to know how much you used and how the plastic came out?

I am trying to get the plastic pretty hard.

I was thinking....one tablespoon in a cup of plastisol.

You could start with that amount. Maybe meet your needs. Any more I guess I'd do in half-teaspoon's at a time. Hardener can take off on you pretty quick. So can softener.

Okay. When you say take off on me quick, what do you mean by that?

There's a point where to much will mess a batch. And its all trial and error.

When you add hardener or softener into plastic, does it make a difference whether it's before or after you heat it?
Or it doesn't make a difference?

You want to add them before cooking.

What type of plastic will you be adding hardener to, soft, regular/medium or hard/saltwater?

What hardener?  What plastic?

How hard to you want your baits to be?

I am using a swimbait blend (medium) Dead on
I have some hardener from Lurecraft.
Looking to get them hard like the hard nose toad/frog (think that was Rhino baits) or like the Berkley kicker frog.
Either way want it hard but obviosity need the hook to penetrate the bait lol
