Title: Heating up molds

Good morning!

How are you guys heating up your aluminum molds before injection?

A heat gun should be suffice?

Funny you should ask Johnny. I just posted this to another member a couple days ago. This works really well for me.

Once we get about 45 degrees and above outside I generally don't mess with warming anything unless a particular mold won't inject and fill completely when cool.

I don't pour any plastics, but I preheat my molds for pouring lead using a hot plate and in between pours to keep them hot.

A toaster oven gets double use in my shop for pre-heating molds and curing paint.
