Title: Keep America Fishing
Post by: Do-it Rep on 04/22/20 15:34 UTC
The ASA (American Sportfishing Association) has been working hard to Keep America Fishing.

Here is a quick link to let you thank your Governor and remind them that keeping Recreational Fishing open is important to us!

Mike, from what anybody  has  read about your situation in Michigan i think anybody would  agree with you 100 %. I don't know why anybody would think 1 or even 2 people in a bass boat could be contributing to the spread of the corona virus to much. No common sense is definitely an understatement in this case. Sure wasn't much put into the thought process or lack of a thought process used in this decision.

I would be inclined to agree on the situation in Michigan.
Thanks for the information Kyle. Sent the message to Kay Ivey.

One thing I've been saying about this virus madness...the worst part about it will be what will be ushered-in due to it.

SO much happened in the wake of 9/11, things that are still in place, and things that make zero sense.

The flu virus kills many-thousands every year, so why all the fuss over the corona?  I'm personally not worried about the corona...I'm picking up another 12-pack and a few limes 🤭

I picked up a 6 pack myself. I quit drinking 15 years ago, but this prompted me to buy it just to see what the reaction at the counter would be. NO Reaction at all, slighlty disappointed there. The Corona itself is not too bad! :)

🤣🤣🤣🤣
No reaction?  At this point on the planet that got nothing?
People need to have more fun 🤣

Classic symptoms of Corona:  Lightheadedness, blurred vision, double vision, hightened laughter, misplaced items, heavy garbage bags, headache, dry mouth...

Those symptoms are only in extreme Corona cases, or cases of Corona!  ;D

What I don't understand with this whole deal is I go into Walmart, Krogers, Sam's Club and Home Depot and people are walking around like ants. Yet I can't go to the gym and workout six feet apart, I can't take my family and go camping on campsites that are spread out, I can't take my wife to a restaurant were they seat every other table, In some states I can't even go fishing by myself. What this is doing is making the big chain stores more powerful and driving out the ma and pa stores. What we need to do as fisherman is to support out local marinas and stop buying our toys online. When our boat is going to need fix we're going to need them. That big online store or chain store is not going to help you much.

You are correct Lamar. Buy local, support local, buy American. It is harder to buy things made in USA than ever before, but we let that happen to ourselves. Let's not let it continue.
Let's also not forget how this post started:

I'm old school and want to have what I plan to buy right there in front of me. I want to see it and handle it. This goes for everything except maybe the bullets I use for hunting. The only "tackle" I get on line is the bodies I air brush, and the hooks I use for jigs and those bodies, but I know what the hooks are like and the quality from experience.
