Title: Adding Scents
Post by: Johnny Bass on 05/01/20 22:22 UTC
Can/should you add scent into the plastic after it's cooked right before you shoot?
If so, how much do you think you should add when you have cooked...say a cup of plastic?

I put scent in the bag after there made. But I’m sure there will be some that cook it in.

I have tried cooking scents into the plastisol. It seems like you lose about 50% of the scent. I'm with Walleye Wacker on this, adding scent to the bag not only lubes the lures, but does a better job holding the scent.

What they said. After baits have had a chance to cool and set up I use a clear plastic container with a lid.  Put a few baits in, 2 drops worm oil, 2-4 drops of scent, close lid and shake the baits around. Once I feel they’ve been covered they’re ready to bag.

I too add it to the bag. It seems to soak it up while curing
