Title: For the Do-It crew.....
Post by: ctom on 05/18/20 10:46 UTC
How much rain did ya'll get over the weekend? Man, you sure sent a mess up here. M digital rain gauge resets at 8AM everyday and at 7:55 we had 3.31". The river behind us along with the creek are running at 4 foot over normal flow. The lake north of town has come up almost three feet....just when the crappies began to spawn. We needed some rain, just not a constant 24 hour event. lol Got my garden watered though.

I was following the system's advance and it looked like Iowa, right about the Denver/Waterloo area, was getting a super soaking...hope ya'll are dry.

Saturday morning I drove to Lake City and flipped some of those humungo OG grub twister tails off the breakwater. 1/4 Teardrop heads worked super for them. I think it was the weather as I caught only 4 short walleyes but did have something bigger grab a purple/chartreuse tailed one and bite the bait off right at the bend of the hook. It was a new bait, not a chewed up one. I'm assuming a pike since I wasn't in water that dogfish hang out in. Nice baits though and super easy to get them to work on that size of jig.

I think we only had a little more than an inch over the weekend.  Actually still behind schedule for the spring.

The two dams by me are up 6,0000-8,0000 Over the weekends CFS. Can’t wait to see the size of the storms when we finally get into summer time temps. I think we my be in for a rough summer weather wise on top of the virus stuff. Hope all stay safe and in good health.

We could not have had a better weekend. Temps in the low 70's and 8 mph winds both days. We got your rain on Monday and it poured all day long and looks like more today. Then they're calling no rain till next Monday. So things are looking better here.
