Title: That Time of Year (Fall Small)
Post by: DF on 11/08/20 14:55 UTC: Amazing weather here in southern MI this week so I'm trying to cram in some fishing before the weather turns. I had a pretty good outing today netting some nice smallmouth. Water temps were 49 F , the hot bait was the 3.5 Ripper in CC green on a brown 1/4 oz darter head.

Lines the 3” Ripper will make a 1/4 oz jig move without killing the action of the bait. Walleye’s by me just crush the 3”

Water temps around the 50 deg mark are the magic time for catching smallmouth on small swim baits. I also have good success with shad raps or flicker shads this time of year but today it was all ripper.

Even had a new rod and reel but to no avail.
Water temp 43 and falling.
Yesterday 17 degrees wind and snow good thing the old girl is in the shop, warm and cared for!
I'm missing them smallies all ready.
