These are the most recent hair jigs that I've tied, that will be shipped to a friend of mine in S. Korea.
He's a Brit, working and living there and also a tournament Bass angler. He's sponsored by one of the S. Korean fishing tackle companies, but he doesn't get anything like these over there! ;D
Of course all on jig heads that I've poured using Do It Molds! Most have Mustad Ultra Point black nickel hooks in the, 3/0 in 3/8 & 1/2 oz heads and 4/0 in 3/4 oz. The first photo, with the newer style Walleye head has a black nickel 2/0 VMC Barbarian hook in it. :D

Very nice ties! Must be that time of year; I'm busy tying up rabbit zonker jigs now!!

All are nice, but the red-orange footballs look like they should really yank some lips!

Real Beauts, Clarke! I think I'm a bigger sucker for custom made hair jigs than fish most days.
I'm with Efishnc - those Fire Reds are HOT!

Excellent work bigjim. Your friend is lucky!

Thanks for all the fine comments!
He asked me for football heads and these colors, and asked for a "Red Bug" color. This is what I came up with. I have a Silver Fox tail that's been dyed red, and some of the hair has the black tips, so I like how they turned out.
This will be his first attempt at using hair jigs, but he is a very good angler, so I don't expect he'll have any trouble with finding some bass with them. :D

Looks like your buddy will have the edge on his competition!

Awesome hair jigs they can really get the job done on most days.

Ultra Shad

WW, I like that Ultra Minnow head too. The jigs that I'm showing here look a lot denser than they are. They're bucktail and fox tail hair and each one is around 4" long. The bucktail is tied in first, small amount and then a layer of fox tail, so the profile is big and the bucktail supports the fox. Not unlike some fly patterns are tied.
I tie with many types of hair too, just depends on how I want them to look, and the movement I want.
My friend is fishing some deep lakes, 30' to 40' and sparse jigs are not what they use there. I also did some researching on what types of forage are in S. Korea, and he chose the weights & colors he wanted, so we may end up changing it up the next time around. He's getting some jig heads to test for me too, so he's helping me out with some R & D. ;D

Those are super! Rig those with a Two Penny Twintail Grub, Craw or Creature Craw Chunk Essential Series soft baits and those are gold!
Great work.

Most of the jigs I trie are light on the hair you get better movement and when your looking for bulk a plastic gets the call.
