What would your ideal #1 jig style be you'd be looking for @Agronomist_at_ia

The Mooska style type is about the ideal. Horizontal presentation with a 2mm up to 5mm size.

Ice spoons.....smaller and lighter then what u currently offer. If you look a lot of dropper chain styles out.......shuck's Jigger, clam speed spoon, Johnson snare, nils master haili....frostee .....a little lighter wider design spoon that tumbles or flutters when it falls.

Any thoughts Kyle

Nothing planned short term as we are working at full capacity right now but we do have some planned releases for Fall 2021 that you may like. I don't have any other details beyond that right now.

Aiming for late September!  Exciting new stuff I think you'll really enjoy but all still firmly guarded in our Top Secret files for now until we get a few final details worked out.

"Aiming for late September! "....Kyle

I'm assuming this means that tight lips will prevail until it's nearer the time for the new catalogs to be released. Think October.

I get that….somewhat…..but I don’t see how that benefits Do it or anyone. It’s not like there is any competition in the market where a company is making jig molds for ice fishing. A lot of the companies are releasing info on the new product releases for ice fishing since Icast to get chatter up about things in the market place so it builds demand for the release date. On the Ice Fishing forum they always have a thread that guys post the new product releasing on talk about them and it drums up demand for the product.

Can we get an idea of what's is coming for Ice jig/lure molds? I came across this one.....and would purchase it...but would like to see what do it molds is releasing before I would order it...I'd rather have a do it version if avalible.

There ya go. Just what you've wanted. I see the same mold for just under $15.00 right now on their website. Ten cavities, 2 sizes. No mention of what the mold material is though. I wonder about durability if is a composite. Glad I don't ice fish so I won't have to worry about it.

One is E-bay shipping included the other is on their web site shipping is not included.
From their web site including shipping is about a buck less.
Been looking at these for some time.
Been hoping for something from Do-It also.

Well a couple of guys from the ice fishing forum and myself couldn’t wait for do-it to announce what the molds coming were. Since this mold ships from Ukraine it will take till the end of November to get here. So a number of us ordered to have it by ice fishing season.

Here is a little info on the mold, for those who might want to know.

The mold has 5 cavities with a weight of 0.44g and 5 cavities with a weight of 0.88g
For Pelkie Ice JIg L412 mold use hooks # 10-12, 0.6mm thick.
Regards

This was posted by kasilofchrisn on the Ice shanty site...thought it might be useful to guys here.

So I ordered a new marmooska mold from eBay that has been discussed in another thread.
Well my mold arrived early and I just got it today.
Machining is actually pretty good for the price point and better than I was expecting.
It is not sand cast like most Do-It molds it is a machined mold from aluminum.
It is a two-piece mold no hinges no handles.
There are five cavities of the larger size and five of the smaller.
It aligns with two alignment pins and two drilled holes on the opposite side.
I haven't cast with it yet but it looks like it should cast decently.
The gates look like they are machined of an adequate size.
I did not notice any burrs yet so it appears they did a good job of machining.
I tried a number 10 Hook in the bigger cavity and it was too thick.
But a number 12 hook works in both cavities.
I'm sure you could drop down to a size 14 or even a size 16 hook if you really wanted to especially in the smaller cavity.
I do think when the mold gets hot it will become difficult to get the hooks aligned properly without burning your finger tips.
Well that's true of most any mold that uses tiny hooks.
I may end up trying some tweezers to see if that helps when I'm casting with this mold.
Hopefully this helps those of you who may have  considered purchasing this mold.
Though I'm not sure they have any more of this one in stock.

Mold came today. Didn’t have any hooks, but took some small Aberdeen hook eyes so I could pour a few. Thought they turned out well.

Is it possible to get a reply? If Do-it isn’t doing the release, then I have some other plastic molds I want to purchase, but would like to know what is going on with do it

Don't know if it will help with your quest, but I have found Do-Its Customer service very helpful when I have questions about a mold (plastic or lead), this includes honest answers about when things will be in stock.

Hard to say about top secret new releases.

They're maybe waiting on the 2022 catalog release. The new catalogs are usually an October thing and that's when most of the new products are released, with covid having thrown a wrench in most of the world over the last couple years things are still a bit slower. Catalogs are printed off-site and Do-It is at the mercy of the printers.

Maybe check out Barlows Tackle or Zeiners to see if they highlight any new Do-It molds. Both of these locations will receive and have in stock the new productions well ahead of when the same is available on the Do-It store.

So Glad I pulled the trigger now on the other mooska mold which unfortunately doesn't have any handles. Wish I knew do-it was going to totally drop the ball on ice fishing once again. Without an ice jig mold, or a small dropper spoon panfish mold.

Scud plastic looks ok..Mr munch looks interesting.......love bug looks like a mess.

But what does it look like to a fish?

The design concept was good…the issue with it is the tentacles are way to close/tight together to get the really good action. On the bottom 1/2 the bottom set of legs are to tight to the upper legs and tail. To get better action….I think ripping them off would solve it though.

Or cutting them up the seams to make the legs a bit more free... (even though it may seem busy, It'll be a fish catcher purely because of it's tiny size)... the real debate on this should be whether to go natural or fluorescent when making these (and the obvious answer is both)!

And just what is flawed? Just because something doesn't make muster in your book doesn't mean anything is flawed. Don't like it, don't buy it or use it. Like efishnc has commented, "it'll be a fish catcher".

Eh....A bare hook can catch fish too...

I have a lot of small baits whose legs/tails get wrapped around each other when I pull them out of the mold,  They work pretty darn good when fished however.  The water helps to keep them apart from each other.  Not sure  if that is the case with this particular bait but I would not dismiss it out of hand till I tried it.
