Title: Help
Post by: 2fly fishes on 03/13/21 18:32 UTC
Trying to come up with a nice junebug recipe. I feel I'm very close but it's too light. I'm afraid to add black. Thought?

Just add more colorant. What colorant are you using?

I have some of it that i use in some junebug baits myself & it makes a nice color. Just add more drops & you'll definitely get a nice junebug.

I have only used X2 colorants in Junebug and Florida Grape (which I liked a little better), so I can't speak as to lurecraft colorants, but if you want it darker, I would try midnight blue instead of black because black tends to shut down other colors.

2flky....I make a cup of medium smoke plastic up and and just keep it on hand and use it for toning other colors a small chunk at a time. Simply make your junebug and if its just on the edge of what is wanted stir in a small chunk of the smoke plastic. The smoke will pull the purple color down a notch without making the color opaque. Works wonders. When I first started with this plastics stuff I used purple and smoke to make my junebug andloved the results. I often still use the two colors to make junebug.

make sure it ( the black grape ) is shook up very well, it can settle some.
